Amy Joerns

Hello!  My name is Amy Joerns.

This is my 6th year teaching 2nd grade at Elcho School.  I am also an Elcho graduate, and I feel so fortunate to be back in the area and teaching at Elcho with an amazing team of people.  I graduated from UW Stevens Point with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education in 1992.  This is my 20th year of teaching, and I have primarily taught 2nd and 3rd grade throughout my teaching career. 

I am also the Co-advisor of the Silent Sports Club.  This is an after-school program for students in 3rd-8th grade.  We meet twice a week throughout the school year.  Throughout the year students are able to experience many outdoor activities that we hope they will continue to do into their adult life.  Some of the activities students participate in are mountain biking, archery, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, kayaking, as well as many fun outdoor games.

I am married and have two daughters.  My husband Todd is also an Elcho graduate.  Our daughters are out of high school, and we enjoy any time that we can get together with them.  We are an outdoor family and love doing many outdoor activities that the Northwoods offers.
