SOCIAL STUDIES
Fall 2024 marks the beginning of my eleventh year at Elcho, and I am excited to return to a full schedule of social studies classes after a fun foray into science. I believe that students should leave my classroom with an historically informed, age-appropriate sense of how they fit into the economics, government, history, cultural, and geography of their community and wider world. I am halfway through a “Teaching History” master’s program and advise the Student Council. At home, I enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter when not working on house and car projects.

About Me
I grew up among the hills and valleys of southwest Wisconsin. I attended UW-La Crosse where I completed my bachelor's degree in Social Studies Eduction with minors in History and Political Science.
I enjoy the outdoors, especially hiking, biking, and kayaking. You can often find me working on home improvement projects or our cars. My favorite books to read are cultural nonfiction books such as C.S. Lewis and fun science fiction.
The last several years of teaching, coaching football, advising Student Council have been a joy. Thank you for making my wife and I part of the Elcho Community. Please contact me if you have any questions about these programs or to discuss your student's education in social studies or science.
